Simple Interest
1. A Simple Interest on small sum of money in a 4 years is 7/25th of principal So, find the rate of interest per year?
- 6.5%
- 5%
- 9%
- 5%
Ans: Option 1
We know, Simple Interest = PRT/100
So, 7P/25 = (P*R*4)/100
i.e R=7%
2. If the Selling price is doubled, then the profit gets tripled. Now find the precent of profit?
- 100%
- 66%
- 105%
- 120%
Ans: option 2
Let the C.P be x rs and the S.P be y rs.
Then, 3(y-x)=(2y-x)=>y=2x
Therefore, Profit=Rs. (y-x)= Rs. (2x-x) = Rs. x
Profit =100%
3. A certain amount earns the Simple Interest of Rs. 1500 after 8 years, which had the interest 2% more. Then how much more interest would be earned?
- 350
- 250
- Data inadequate
- 50
Ans: Option 3
The answer is Data inadequate. You should know the Simple Interest principal and time to find the rate. Here the principal is not given therefore the answer can’t be given.
Distance & Speed
4. A speed of the current in the river is 2.5 km/h and the speed of a man with the current is 15 km/h. Then, what is a man’s speed against the river current?
- 17.5 km/h
- 10 km/h
- 12.5 km/h
- 15 km/h
Ans: Option 2
While going with the current or downstream, the current speed assists a speed of the man, which is the opposite case in the upstream and resisting the speed of a man.
In the still water, a speed of the man is (15 – 2.5) = 12.5 km/h.
here, the speed of the man against the flow of current is (12.5 – 2.5) = 10 km/h.
5. The two trains are approaching each other at a speed of 100 km/h and 50 km/h. They will meet each other in 3 hrs, so find the current distance between them?
- 150 km
- 230 km
- 300 km
- 450 km
Ans: Option 4
A Relative Speed = 100+50 150 km/h and Time = 3 hrs
Therefore disance between them = S * T = 150*3 = 450 km
Current distance between the two trains = 450 km
6. A boat whose speed in 15 km/h in the still water goes 30 km downstream and then come back in a total of 4:30 hrs. then, the speed of the stream in (km/h) is?
- 6 km/h
- 4 km/h
- 5 km/h
- 10 km/h
Ans: Option 3
Let the speed of the stream be x km/h. Then, Speed of downstream = (15 + x) km/h
Speed of upstream = (15 – x)km/h.
(30 / 15+x) + (30 / 15-x) = 4.5 h
Therefore x = 5 km/h.
Time
7. A calender for the year 2007 will be the same for the year?
- 2014
- 2015
- 2017
- 2018
Ans: Option 4
Now count the no of odd days from 2007 onwards to get the sum equal to 0 odd day. So, the calender for the year 2018 will be the same as for the year 2007.
8. The library has an average of 300 visitors on the Sunday and 200 on the other days. The average no of visitors per day in the month of 30 days which begin with sunday is?
- 276
- 280
- 250
- 217
Ans: Option 4
Since the month begin with the Sunday, so their will be 5 sundays in the month.
Therefore Average = (300*5 + 200*25) / 30 = 217
9. An open tap fills the cistern of water in 4 hours. There is a leak in the cistern so due to this tap takes 4.5 hours to fill the tanker. If allowed to drain through a leak, the cistern will be empty in how much time?
- 8.5 hours
- 36 hours
- 18 hours
- 19 hours
Ans: Option 2
Unit work by inlet: 1/4 …(1)
Unit work by a leak & the inlet: 1/4.5 = 2/9 …(2)
The unit work by the inlet = (2)-(1) = 2/9-1/4 = -1/36.
Here, the -ve sign indicates that leak is more efficient than the inlet and therefore, it indicates that the cistern will never be full. Therefore, the cistern can empty the tank in 36 hours when it is fully filled and when a inlet is not working.
Number System
10. What will be the smallest or least number which when doubled will be divisible exatly by 12, 18, 21 and 30?
- 630
- 480
- 1260
- 4850
Ans: Option 1
LCM = 2 x 3 x 2 x 3 x 7 x 5 = 1260
Therefore, Number = 1260 / 2 = 630
11. Find the odd man out: 6, 9, 15, 21, 24, 28, 30?
- 9
- 21
- 24
- 28
Ans: Option 4
28 is not multiple of 3
12. A sum of the present ages of the son and his father is 60 years. Six years ago, father’s age was five times the age of his son. Now, after 6 years the age of the son will be?
- 18 year
- 12 year
- 14 year
- 20 year
Ans: Option 4
Let, the present ages of son and his father be (60-x) and x.
Then, (60-x)-6=5(x-6)
54-x = 5x-30
6x = 84
x =14
Therefore the son’s age after 6 years = (6+x) = 20 year.
Probability
13. Three unbaised coins are tossed then, what is the prebability of getting at the most two heads?
- 1/4
- 6/7
- 7/8
- 5/8
Ans: Option 4
Here S= {TTT, TTH, THT, HTT. THH, HTH, HHT,HHH}
Let E = event of getting at most two heads
E = {TTT, TTH, THT,HTT,THH,HTH,HHT}
Therefore, P= 7/8
Permutation & Combinations
14. In how many different ways the letters of the word ‘LEADING’ can be arranged in such a way that the vowels always comes together?
- 480
- 360
- 720
- None
Ans: Option 3
Here the word has 7 different letters and when the vowels AEI are together, then they supposed to form one letter.
Now, we have to arrange the letters NLDG (EAI). Now 5 (4+1 = 5) Letters can be arranged in 5! = 120 ways.
The vowels can be arranged in 3! ways among themself = 6ways.
Therefore, required no of ways = 120*6= 720 ways.

1. Written Round:
Mainly written round is divided into two parts where questions were asked on Qualitative Analysis in the first round and the second round consists of Logical and Data Interpretation.
2. Coding Round:
Only the students who cleared the first round are eligible for this round. Actually this round was more easy to the students from CS/IT branch and little tougher for the non CS/IT branch. As I was from the CS brach so this round was easier for me. There were total 5 questions asked in the round where we’ve to code completely for each and every question.
The questions in my sheet were:
- Write the code for fibonacci series
- Write the Pigeonhole Algorithm.
- Find the longest Pallindrome in the given string.
- Find the height of the Binomial Tree.
- Revers the given words in the string.
3. Face to Face Interview Round:
Generally their are two face to face rounds which are
- Technical Round
- HR Round
Technical Round:
At my times students appeared were more so, the students were divided into the group of 4. All the students in my group were from the same branch. After short formal introduction, the interviewer starts asking few general questions such as who is your favourite professor and why. How’s the preparation going on for the upcoming final exams. Later he asked some technical questions from CS such as:
- What is Agile and Waterfall model.
- Explain me all the concepts of OOPS.
- Explain difference between throw and throws in java.
